Fanzine Reviews

I have accumulated a sizable collection of Blake's 7 fanzines, both vintage and... not so vintage, and for a long time I have wanted to do some kind of review series for them, if only so I could have a reference for my favourite fics, which I always wind up losing, and because some of the prominent reviews that are out there are heavily A/B in focus.
I've always been held back by a "rule" of newer fandom - "If you don't like a fic, just walk away, keep your mouth shut and find something else to read" - that didn't use to apply to zines, where people relied on review to figure out whether the zines were worth the purchase (printing and shipping cost). These days, that necessity for reviews hasn't entirely vanished, but people used to online archives with warnings and pairing labels are less inclined to dip into the wild west of fanzines, where a fic you love might easily rub shoulders with a fic you hate.
Anyway - all this is to say that any statement/criticism below is a matter of personal taste, and does neither negate the effort and love the author put into the fic, nor the possibility of someone else loving that same fic. And that's fine! There are no value judgments here.

The covers appear here as a matter of fair use for review purposes. I have chosen deliberately small images sizes and have credited the artist in the description where possible. As authors/contributers sometimes use their "real life" names, I have listed them by initial only.
Also note that, since I read broadly, these zines may have all kinds of pairings and ratings.
