My Fanfic

As Jaelijn, I've published a lot of Blake's 7 fanfics, generally on Archive of Our Own. You can read them there, if you prefer - and if you want to find the newest stuff, leave a comment or a kudos (please and thanks!), the archive is your best bet!

That said, I'm working on mirroring the fics here, in the interest of not having all my eggs in the same basket. As there are many, many fics (150+ and counting), this will be a lengthy process, but you'll gradually find things below.

Fanfiction?

... is writing that directly acknowledges and obviously borrows story elements from a third-party text. It is written out of love and does not intend to infringe on the copyright of the corresponding rights holders. While in many cases these third-party text are still copyrighted, there are copyright exceptions for the cases of quotation, criticism and review as well as caricature, parody or pastiche that ensure a balance between freedom of expression and copyright. In some countries, this is also referred to as "fair use". It is within this framework that I write and publish my fanworks.

What can you expect from my fics?
Lots of angst, lots of hurt/comfort, reasonable regularly moderately to quite dark. Overall, even when everything turns out all right, my fics tend to be serious. Very occasionally there's a fluff piece. If you're desperate for fluff, try the lower case titles; those are from a fluff prompt event. I don't really write humour or crack.

Pairings and Other Categories

☘ Gen = Absolutely no pairings are the focus of the fic. This includes canon pairings, though these might be mentioned in passing in fics classified "Gen".
⚣ M/M slash = A pairing between male characters involving at least one canon character is the focus of the fic.
⚢ F/F slash = A pairing between female characters involving at least one canon character is the focus of the fic.
⚤ F/M = A pairing between male and female characters involving at least one canon character is the focus of the fic. This does not mean both characters are heterosexual or cisgender.
Mixed = One or more characters involved in the pairing are non-binary/agender/third gender.

All pairing categories reference canon characters only. That is, there may be all kinds of relationships between OCs even in fics tagged Gen, though these are not generally the focus of the fic. There will not be untagged pairings between or involving canon characters unless it's a canon pairing mentioned only in passing. If a canon pairing is the major focus of the fic, it will be tagged.

Unless otherwise specified, the below stories are not rated higher than PG/PG-13/Teen/12+ aka the rating of the show. In case of a higher rating, it will be noted below.

Novels

While I have a general tendency towards longer fics (most stuff is at least 1k+), there are a few stories that have truly become epics, generally mostly intentionally so. They are also included in the list below, but if I'm writing novels, I want to highlight them in all the glory they deserve, too!

Bitter Days, and Sweet

Many years after Gauda Prime, the only two survivors, Vila and Avon, find themselves reluctantly running the New Federation. They live fairly quietly with the ghosts of the past – until the day an impossibly familiar ship and an equally impossibly familiar face show up on security footage captured near the Outer Planets…

Here it finally is - the PGP novel I've been working on for the last half year! I'm very excited to finally be able to start sharing this, and hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
If you've been enjoying my asexual!Avon fics - "Bitter Days, and Sweet" is set in a different 'verse, so events played out differently than they do in that series, but the fic is deliberately written so that it won't contradict a reading of Avon as ace.
This is completed, though I'm still putting the later chapter through a second round of editing. I will try for a more or less regular update schedule for the chapters, but without further ado now, enjoy!

Never Twice the Same

The bid for Central Control has disastrous consequences. Avon is left trying to pick up the pieces.

(This fic offers an alternative perspective on my PGP novel Bitter Days, and Sweet. It will not make sense without having read BDaS. If you have - this is "River"'s story.)

As the summary says, this, finally, by readers' request, is River's story and perspective on events in Bitter Days, and Sweet. There are many "missing scenes" from the BDaS plotline in this story and I don't re-explain the premise, so it will not make any sense if you haven't read BDaS. Also feel like I should warn you that, frankly, BDaS is the happier fic. ;)
I will be posting in instalments, but some chapters are significantly shorter than others, so it might not be "just" a chapter a week. But, as always, the fic is fully finished, so no need to fear that it will be abandoned incomplete.

Stories in Chronological Order

I've done my best to bring some kind of chronological order into my fics, at least grouping them by series and internally by publication date (the most recent fics are generally listed last). There may be some slippage between late S1/early S2. There is no guarantee that a story set in S1 is spoiler-free - in fact, assume that all stories will contain spoilers for the entire series.
Canon divergent Alternate Universe stories (AUs) are included in the chronology as well as I could make them fit, but not Alternate Reality fics (the characters exist in a completely different context/world from canon). I have listed those separately as there's no way to reference them against the show.
